FTE is a prestigious German supplier from Ebern, Bavaria, that has delivered highquality braking products since 1954. In November 2017, the Valeo Group proudlywelcomed FTE into its family, bringing an extensive range of braking solutions to thewhole of Europe.
FTE has remanufactured brake calipers for both the IAM and the O.E. market since2011. Together, Valeo and FTE remanufacture around 1 million products annually.
A Range to Exceed Expectations
FTE boasts an extensive range of more than 2,600 references of remanufacturedcalipers, covering the majority of the European carpark, as well as regularlylaunching new references.
With more than ten years’ experience of remanufacturing calipers, FTE has arrivedat a level of expertise that allows them to provide the IAM with the highest standards,which includes both traditional calipers and EPB (Electrical Parking Brake) calipers.
Remanufacturing Expertise
When remanufacturing, FTE only ever uses O.E. cores, and always makes end-of-line tests on all references. Such guidelines produce calipers that are as good asnew, and therefore have the same two-year warranty as O.E. products.
FTE’s plant in Slovakia, where its brake calipers are remanufactured, has receivedIATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 certification.
Steps of the Remanufacturing Process
- The cores are pre-sorted on various criteria, before being shipped to FTE
- A second selection at an FTE plant
- The cores are dismantled and cleaned
- A visual inspection of all components and subcomponents
- Replacement of worn parts
- Re-assembly
- Final testing to ensure consistent quality

FTE’s reputation is partly built on ensuring a high availability of calipers to theEuropean aftermarket. FTE is able to do this thanks to strategically placedwarehouses across Europe and with only 2 different core deposit prices, the coremanagement is simple:
- No sorting or computing of the cores by the customer
- A quick valuation of the credit note, with new core harmonisation
Thanks to FTE’s computerised core collection system, e-Corps, the credit note isissued 72 hours after the sorting. By managing the core collection with local needs inmind, an efficient core return to the production factory is guaranteed.
